In our first workshop of the GRC Studio Series “Worldbuilding with GRC” we created personal pledges. I offer mine here as a reflection of who I am and who I pledge to be. We can and will accomplish great things through rock.

I will remember that I rock and will center joy in all my efforts. I hope to be funny and ask that you let me know when I am not funny. I come ready and willing to repair and invest in the process of accountability. I believe there is power in transformation, forgiveness, and healing. I am committed to healing myself and showing up authentically in our work to support each other and our campers. I will be deliberately open-minded. I will seek consensus and do my best to communicate plans. I will be reasonable in my expectations and honest with myself and my peers in my commitments. I will share my boundaries and change them when I need to. I extend this same graciousness and flexibility to you. I will be mindful of hoarding power, time, and resources, and I pledge to move toward abundance. I hope we will orient our work toward action. I intend to help identify ways forward and recognize that this work begins with making sure all who wish to participate have what they need to thrive. As we work to dismantle systems of oppression, I pledge to continue to educate myself and identify where I operate within those same systems in order to be accountable and to divest. I pledge never to stop learning or growing and to reflect and change as I evolve. I expect you to bring the same openness, intentionality, and joy to our adventures in rock.
